Quest for Learning is fortunate enough to work with some of the country’s leading educational consultants to develop innovative teaching models which we take into schools to inspire children’s learning. To enable more children to benefit from these, our teaching models have been adapted into nationwide professional development courses. Our maths and literacy consultants also run a variety of other Quest for Learning courses to inspire and develop the professional practice of those working with young people. Courses run across England, from Gloucestershire to Suffolk, and from the southern counties into the Midlands.

Literacy training

Working with leading literacy consultants, we run literacy courses developed from our dynamic models of literacy teaching: Reading Quest and BookQuest. We also run a range of short continuing professional development courses to keep teachers inspired with ideas for innovative literacy teaching, and up-to-date with new statutory requirements and changes in educational practice.

All our courses aim to empower those working with children to develop their literacy teaching or support skills to the full in order to inspire and empower the children they teach.

Numeracy training

Developed and run by experienced maths consultants, our courses for teachers and teaching assistants give practical strategies for developing pupils’ skills while building their conceptual understanding in order to secure mastery in key areas of the maths curriculum. Our Numskills course and activity folder puts an emphasis on mathematical fluency, flexibility and mental maths skills through confidence-building games and activities.

Cross-curricular courses

As well as our Literacy and Numeracy courses, from time-to-time we also run courses on inspiring and innovative educational practice which can be applied right across the curriculum.
