End of KS2 Writing Assessment and Moderation: Cross-school moderation
This is the third of a series of three sessions aiming to support Year 5 and Year 6 teachers to develop their understanding and application of the statutory Teacher Assessment Framework for Writing through termly opportunities to meet and moderate with colleagues.
Teachers may attend all three sessions or select individual sessions from the series.
Pupils’ progress to end of Key Stage assessments spans across the Key Stage and it is therefore essential that all teachers are aware of expectations and involved in the journey towards these. To this end, this series of sessions is suitable for both Year 5 and Year 6 teachers, either as colleagues from the same school, or working independently. English subject leaders are also welcome to attend in order for them to gain an overview of progress towards end of KS2 writing expectations.
Session 3 – Cross-school moderation
In the final session, teachers will have an opportunity to moderate and discuss pupils’ writing from across the standards, agreeing or refining judgements with colleagues from other schools and discussing next steps to secure standards by the end of the teacher assessment period.
